1. What SafeTap is — and isn't
SafeTap is a personal safety tool that lets you send your location to contacts you choose, with one tap.
SafeTap is not a substitute for emergency services. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent help, call your local emergency number (000 in Australia, 911 in the US, or the equivalent where you are) first. SafeTap has no connection to emergency services, police, or first responders, and alerting a contact through the app does not notify any authority.
Message delivery is not guaranteed. SafeTap opens your phone's own Messages app, pre-filled with your location and addressed to your chosen contacts — you must tap send yourself. Whether that message actually reaches your contacts depends on things outside our control: your phone's signal, your carrier, your contacts' phones being on and reachable, and you completing the send. We do not monitor, confirm, or guarantee delivery of any alert.
2. Your responsibilities
Keep your emergency contacts' details current and correct — SafeTap can only send to the numbers you've entered.
Test the app in a low-stakes moment so you know how it works before you need it in a real one.
Understand that SafeTap requires your active participation (opening the app, tapping the alert, tapping send) — it does not work automatically or in the background, except for the optional Check-In Timer feature described in the app, which still requires you to have set it up in advance.
Use SafeTap lawfully and don't use it to harass, spam, or send unwanted messages to anyone.
3. Accounts
SafeTap doesn't require an account or sign-up to use its core features. There's nothing for us to suspend or delete on our end because we don't hold your data — see our Privacy Policy for details on what stays on your device.
4. SafeTap Plus (optional paid features)
SafeTap offers an optional paid tier, "SafeTap Plus," which unlocks additional features such as unlimited trusted contacts and the Check-In Timer. Where available:
-
Purchases and subscriptions are billed and managed through Google Play's (or Apple's, where applicable) billing system, not by us directly.
-
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play (or Apple) account settings.
-
Refunds are handled according to Google Play's (or Apple's) standard refund policies — we don't process payments or refunds ourselves.
-
All core safety features (Alert Contacts, Log Only, the private alert log) remain free and are never paywalled.
5. No warranty
SafeTap is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any alert will be successfully sent or received.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ransom Group Pty Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, SafeTap — including situations where an alert is not sent, not received, or received late. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee or right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
7. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example as SafeTap's features change. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continuing to use SafeTap after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Australia.
